My learning goal is to be able to use GIS for work in marine biology or a conservation field. I hope that what I do can make a difference to the world some how.
Short term I am looking to complete this course with a good understanding of all it covers so that I can develop my skills further on.
HI Mac, Im not sure whether this will be covered in this course or not, but there are a vareity of GIS software apps available for use on mobile devices (tablets and mobile phones) which allow recording of survey data and sightings āin the fieldā which can then be used direct within GIS software. Qfield is one such app which links directly with QGIS but there are also others which upload the survey data direct from field observation to ācloud storageā actually during survey, so the survey data can be access and mapped in real time āback at baseā. If it is not covered in this course, then I can provide you with a bit more help in this area if you need it. Cheers Jonathan
My goal is to learn basic GIS components as well as to be able to create an informative, correct and clear maps using the QGIS tool as this will help me in the future.
Hi everyone. My goal for this course is to practice my QGIS skills and possibly use spatial data from the choughs conservation project I am working on. Specifically, I would like to learn how to transfer and represent public sighting data in QGis.
I am currently doing some refresher training having not used GIS in a work environment for going on 6 years. I had previously used GIS extensively in property and land management roles, but I want to diversify my GIS and knowledge skill set (especially around ecology and conservation). Iām hoping that being on this brilliant course, will enable me to at least make a start along that learning pathway.
Thanks for the interesting session. Iām looking forward to more. This being my first time trying QGIS, I am able to see the various possibilities that come along with the application.
I really like this course, my learning goal is to learn how to upload GPS data from the field and have different layers maps that will communicate the information i got from the field.
My learning goal for this course is to create a GIS project to combine our wolf monitoring data with free environmental data, visualise our field data effectively and create maps that clearly show our wolf home range.
My goal in this course is to learn how to operate QGIS, as I am already familiar but not best with ArcGis that Iāve learnt when doing my degree. Now, I have so much passion to work as a gis specialist or technician. I believe this will be a great help for me as I am preparing my self for the future either on my studies or work.
My learning goal for this course is to use in a correct way the tools offered by the program and to deepen my knowledge of basic SIG issues. I would also like to learn how to build informative and clear maps.
I would like to learn to use QGIS at least at such a level that I will be able to import field data into the program for my masterās thesis and then process it in QGIS myself.
my goals for this course are to refresh some of the GIS skills Iāve learnt already, so that I can analyse spatial data using some of the GIS tools, and create maps to communicate spatial data in a meaningful way to others
