I am a Molecular biologist, studied microbiology and biochemistry. I have a masters in Microbiology, and current busy doing laboratory work for completing my PhD in Molecular Zoology. My current project involves rodent sampling in the Kruger National Park, in which different sites are selected and visited to trap and process this small animals. Processing include, taking body measurements, take blood drop in lysis buffer and creating slides. I am looking for rodent haemoparasites, such a Theileria, Babesia and Toxoplasma, which I am currently observing a lot under microscope, compared to rod-like Bacillus bacteria. Observed haemoparasites will be confirmed by molecular processing, that includes Real-Time, and Standard PCR which will be followed by sequencing of positive samples.
