Hi, I’m Rahma. My goal in taking this course is to be able to operate the basics of QGIS, besides that I want to do some advantages or efficiency of QGIS in providing a base map when compared to ArcGIS in my research.
My goal is to gain basic knowledge about QGIS as I believe it would help me in my field of work.

@LouM Having some knowledge of ArcGIS will certainly help understand the concepts of QGIS (and you can use exactly the same data in both packages). Both software products will do very similar things, but the terminology and where to find the individual functions that you may know in ArcGIS will be different in QGIS - but they will be there

I am so much proud of myself now that I finished my first project in module 1. I am hoping that I can learn more about this and also import my field observations into QGIS. Thank you for this open course!
My goals for this course are to gain more GIS experience and learn another GIS program. I am familiar with ArcGIS but hope to become more familiar with QGIS as I make my career transition.

My personal learning goals is to pick up interest in GIS and also explore the possibilities of visualisation my research study in an interactive map. I’ve previously started courses in ArcGIS and QGIS but never got to see them through, I’m hoping to do better this time.
Hi Everyone! My only purpose why I involve in this kind of online course is that I want learn and what is in the GIS, and how it is being done and also add knowledge for me as a biology student, because this might be useful in the future.
