What is your map's message?

For nestbox monitors to be able to establish where they can find penguin nestboxes and pest traps around the coastline. The map should enable anyone to be able to find them even without having visiting the site. As it is in an urban area and nestboxes are located in bushes, having a street map maybe helpful to ID key features e.g. a bin or bench as marks of reference. The bushes can grow or change shape over time so having other alignments to refer to will make the work easier than distinguishing one bush from the next.

Hello everyone!

My map message would be to show the distribution of Crofton weed (a weed species I’m trying to find the extent of in the Stellenbosch region, Western Cape). The crofton weed will be represented by points in areas where it occurs.

Thanks

I would like to create Laos tiger sightings and use GIS to measure habitat characteristics, such as tree cover, distance to water, temperature, altitude etc.

I would like to create a map showing wetland bioregions based on vegetation communities found in a particular wetland.

I want to create a map that show various wetlands sampled for waterbirds. For the map, I want to determine area of each site, determine distance between sites, vegetation cover, water depth and other landscape measures/features

My map will display the location of multiple frogs across a small island. I would like to have the topography of the area visualized since we believe altitude is a key part of their habitat selection.

I want to show the point distribution of Dolphin and freshwater Turtles distribution and abundance in the Indian river system of Ganga & Brahmaputra, together with this i also want to make an LULC map of the concerned and target species Habitat all along the river survey area.

I want to show the distribution of rhinos in the conservancy. This will highlight areas they and areas they less frequent.

i would like my map to show distribution of problem animals in relation to land use and vegetation type in each eco region and if possible, show threat levels of the problem animal.

The purpose of my map is to show changes in the area covered by the vulnerable seagrass species Zostera capensis in Langebaan Lagoon over time. I would like to compare seagrass growth and establishment inside and outside of a marine protected area and note whether there is successful re-establishment at a restoration site.

Through my map, I would like to show the range of motion of the lizards and the home range. With the home range map, we will be able to see the type of vegetation, and habitat availability.

Hi everyone
i would like to show the distribution of Erythrophleum africanum in Hwange National Park, Main camp. I hope that the map will show which areas have more E africanum, for example close to water holes, or along elephant paths.

In my maps, I intend to show the location of my study area, the occurrence of endemic species (plants), species diversity and the number of the most abundant families in the Observatory.

The message I’m aiming to share is the distribution map of the Blue-winged Goose (Cyanochen cyanoptera ) in the highlands of Ethiopia.

I am going to be making maps of seagrass patch locations. If I could also show other features of bed health such as density or shoot length that would be great too. I want viewers of my map to understand where seagrass beds are along the Gulf of Mexico and look at patterns of where healthy versus not health bed may be.

My map’s message is to show species distribution within different types of habitat

With my map I would like to show the occupation of nest boxes by different species of birds depending on the density of vegetation in the area.

One map I made recently outside of this course displayed the different aquatic habitats on the Fort Hall reservation. It was useful when doing an in-person tour to see what the habitat is classified as using the National Wetland Inventory layer.

I want to create a map that shows mudflat extent over time, to see if sea level rise or erosion have affected this habitat.

I would like to draw areas that are prone to erosion in my home town. Areas prone to erosion will have low lying areas in a watershed. Vegetation and rivers will be some of the layer than can be used to predict areas prone to erosion.
