great looking map there! I’d suggest moving the scale and north arrow a bit away from the grids so they are clearer.
Thank you @LouM. I will also try this out.
your map its really good. i had trouble to include the grid. how do you solveded that?
As evident, I had some issues getting the correct representation. I couldn’t figure out how to get the dots to work as seen in the other maps. Consistently, I noticed that the output didn’t correlate with the instructions. I tried adding expressions in the legend but found ti challenging. If any mac folks have figured it out, I would really appreciate some help!
This map looks nothing like the other amazing maps that I am seeing. But i am so happy that i now know the basics. I can now go ham and experiment with my own data which i am excited to do. I actually repeated this course twice because I stopped for a while and I forgot some basics. Lovely course!
Your map looks really good. I love the creativity too.
Oh wow! This is lovely. Well done.
Your map looks amazing and it’s so nice to see the pride you have in your work! Having struggled a lot with my map, I would love to know how you made the dots appear in your map. I tried really hard to do and somehow couldn’t. As mentioned in your post, I would also love to take more courses and improve my GIS knowledge.
Hello,
That is a great map you have made. It is clear, easy to understand and informative. I also like your inset map. Great job!!
Thank you! I’m also unsure if I did the dots correctly as my group size of 4 has dropped off my legend but what I did was:
- In the QGIS window, right-click on the Gibbon Sightings Merged layer and click properties
- In this new window, in Symbology, I changed the following as in my screenshot (I did change the values to 1-1.9 and 2-2.9 etc my double-clicking each value but they seem to have rounded up)
I hope this helps
Well done Misrak. You made a wonderful map ever.
It took me a great deal to actually get through with this module. However I was able to pull through.
You work is great!
You detailed the map well.
I really enjoyed this module, the instructions were clear and it was fun seeing the map come together. I have done this before a few years ago so this module served as a great refresher on how to add all the components to make a complete map. I had a bit of trouble with the scale initially but figured it out eventually. I also realized that my degrees on the right of my map were not there when I saved the image and that only the top ones were there, I will have to go back and play around with that.
Stunning map! You added a significant amount of information to your map yet it is still easy to read and does not look too cluttered, great work!
Wow, this was quite a challenging module for me. My main issue was getting the parameters of my legend right (they kept showing up as 1-1, 1-3, 3-4, etc.) It took many tries but I think I finally got it right thanks to the help of people in the forum who had similar issues. Overall I enjoyed making the map, although I wish I had felt confident enough to add the smaller inset map. Maybe I will go back again later on to add it!
I like it, looks very clean!! I also like how you used color instead of size to show how many gibbons there are. One suggestion I would make is to add the threat evidence data, I’m sure we can consider it to be an important factor. Keep up the good work!
The module was fantastic as now i am able to manipulate tool bars.i can use my own data now to draw the map.
I wish to be able to use other tools in the qgis
Thanks for this course lucy, you have helped me alot
OH MY GOD, I DID IT! After having a very hard time to expanding my patience and eagerness to learn and dedication to finish this module, for the second time I am here presenting my output. I just couldn’t believe that I did! I just followed the instructions and clicked more on the item properties… without asking help from anybody… I thank God and Dr. Lucy for this opportunity. There was hardships but I learned a lot. And all those lessons are what matters most.
n
Yes! I agree that this module was fantastic. And yeah, thank you so much Dr. Lucy, we learned a lot.
