My learning goals are to import my own observations into QGIS as well as to download free distribution data and create maps that allow me to show this information and draw conclusions from it.
Hi! I am really enjoying the course so far! It’s hard for me to pinpoint a specific learning goal as I am currently not working but I would like to become a Site Manager so I want to show that I can use QGIS to analyse and present field observations. To make it a measurable goal I will create a project in Malta - perhaps analysing how many invasive plant species are found within a protected area or how many trees are found in one area…
Mya goal is to use it to show the stranding map of marine mammals in Myanmar. Moreover, I want to apply it for my further research area.
I would like to progress in my practical use and skills for QGIS whereby I can offer it to the projects I work on as well as create my own data for map making.
My objective is to look for variables (land use, soil granulometry, rivers, rocky areas, etc) that can explain the distribution of Ctenomys species in central Argentina.
Hi all,
My goal of this course is
-
learn how to use QGIS
-
learn about what kind of data need for mapping.
-
how I can show my collected data through the map
I wanted to get more experience using this Qgis software and learn its capabilities.
As I mentioned in my self-presentation, my area of work is the diet of large carnivores, specifically the Mexican wolf. My objective of this course will be to build a map with the sites where we collect wolf droppings, and I will estimate their activity area based on the records of droppings and camera traps from the Project for the Reintroduction and Conservation of the Mexican Wolf in the northwest of Mexico from the Autonomous University of Queretaro and the National Commission for Protected Natural Areas.
I want to use classification tools, as well as be able to measure sea-level rise and/or erosion.
Hi again all!
My learning goals for this course are to be able to get a working knowledge of Spatial Data and GIS and, ie be able to create, modify and analyse GIS Projects, so that it will hopefully help in the management of conservation projects one day!
My main goals for the course are to become familiar with the software, learn to create maps of my own field observations, and understand how to integrate both open source data and personal data into useful maps for conservation and environmental management work.
my learning goal is to create maps to show the layout of camera trap spots that we set up in cheetah territories.
My learning goal is to feel reasonably confident with basic use of GIS so that when I do have my own data/applications for this software I am comfortable using it.
I joined the course because I wanted to understand the basics of qGIS and how to structure data to be used in projects. For the moment, I don’t have my own data, but I am convinced it is always useful to play with the software and learn how to create your own project.
I’d like to learn the basics of QGIS and be able to import field data and to create maps.
Over these next few weeks my goal is to learn the basics of QGIS so I can use the software on my own once I have my own data to work with.
Create a map of a recent field survey site and integrate at least 2 different types of observation data.
Use of spatial data to develop species distribution data and to define meta-populations and identify species with conservation-critical distributions.
I appreciate the course for learning to support my work. My goal in this course is I want to understand the tool for using GIS and how to how to add data and digitize data for producing a good map. Best regareds,
My goal is to gain baseline knowledge of QGIS and to be able to use QGIS tools to work independently.
